THE OBJECTIVE
Making one leadership perspective accessible through conversational AI
Making room for many questions while staying true to one perspective.
Turning Akio Toyoda’s perspective into an open-ended conversation introduced a central tension. He could not personally respond to every VIP guest, while a fixed presentation could not anticipate every question.
AI could extend that dialogue, but guest questions could vary widely and come in either Japanese or English. Every response still had to stay true to Akio Toyoda’s leadership philosophy and approach to decision-making, while the guest-facing application remained controlled and reliable throughout continuous use.
As part of the collaboration, PLABS worked on the front-end implementation of the guest-facing application that connected guests with ATAI. The application brought each stage of the conversation into one clear flow, from starting a session and submitting a question to receiving ATAI’s response.
Its bilingual interface supported interactions in both Japanese and English, allowing guests to use the language they were most comfortable with.
OUR WORK

ATAI gave VIP guests a bilingual, real-time way to ask their own questions and engage with Akio Toyoda’s perspective. By bringing a conversational persona into a guest-facing application built for controlled, continuous exhibition use, the platform made that perspective accessible through individual conversations.
